Yay! Today I found my Palm Zire! And guess what. It STILL WORKS!
Lemme start from the beginning. I got it for Christmas two years ago. After I got it, I was ecstatic because the only thing that I really wanted was a PDA. I used it all the time.
After a while (last August), it started to act wierd. The stylus wasn’t working correctly so you had to hit the screen fifty thousand times before anything was actually selected (Although the Grafitti ? area worked fine). I kinda stopped using it and, alas, after a while it started to funciton properly again.
Then I started taking it to school with me. One day in December, I was trying to cross the creek to get to school and I slipped on that freakin invisible ice, and fell into the creek holding my Zire. If I had jumped right out, I probably could have saved it, but since I just sat there, eventually it shocked me and caused me to sit in ice-cold water for another minute and go numb all over my body (I ran home and changed and got to school on time).
So after that I could turn it on, but it keep scrolling through Datebook and Addy Book, so I just let it scroll until it died. It turns out that it just needed a battery charging, but I didn’t know that so I stashed it until now.
This morning I found it and decided to charge it, and, voila! It worked! I’m overjoyed, even though all my data had been erased, but it’s a small price to pay for my Zire back.
Now i just gotta find the USB cord….
