school update

School has turned out to be pretty okay, in fact. I can thankfully say that all doubt I had yesterday is gone, and I’m feeling unusally happy right now. Here’s an overview of my classes:

Pd. 1 – P.E. P.E. was awesome today. We all played cards and stuff, and we finally get to dress tomorrow! Yay! Unfortunately, we only get 47 minute periods of P.E., so some things had to be cut so we can work on our units.

Pd. 2 – Spanish Spanish has been pretty alright. If that makes sense. Which it doesn’t. I sit in between Grace and Jesse, and they both rock (in their own indavidual ways :-P) I also sit behind Cierra. We mouth “I love you thiiiiis much [rainbow hand motion]” every day and then crack eachother up. We look like retards doing it, but who really cares?

Pd. 3 – Reading Challenge *Throws up in mouth* Ok. I really don’t like Miss Laroure. Or however you spell it. She’s pretty rude and I don’t think she likes that many of us. I don’t really like her class.

Pd. 4 – Science 3 GT I’ve never been a Science person…dunno how this year will shape up yet. It’s cool in an odd way sitting next to Grace. We have fun, and I guess time will tell how this year will be in Science.

Pd. 5 – A.P./Band Band starts next week. I’ve already lost my ridiculously hard audition music. Last chair, here I come!

Pd. 6 – Algebra 1 So far, Algebra has been cool. I’m understanding everything and Mrs. Silverman is really nice. This class is gonna be great this year, I just can’t wait until we actually start covering new material.

Pd. 7 – Lunch Probably going to be spent most of the time in the Skybox with Grace and Kelsey doing MWTV stuff.

Pd. 8 – U.S. History 1 I love this class. It is SO interesting and fun. Even Valery liked it yesterday! Mrs. O’Connel is a great teacher, and I’m really going to enjoy her class this year! I’ve already taken to it.

Pd. 9 – G.T. English Very fun so far. We’re doing Caught ‘Ya again. I want to know what the new story is! I hope it’s not as dumb as it was last year. No offense to Mrs. Bridner. I have to interview Delonte for an article we have to write….big whoop.

So I’m pretty excited about most of my classes. Now I need to focus on my grades!

old enemies reunited

O. M. F. G.

So, I’m up at my street’s end-of-summer block party thing, and I’m super bored. Probably because I’m older than 12 and younger than 30. And so I’m standing there and I hear my mom start talking to somebody. She says “Yyonne! I didn’t recognize you! Is Mike here?”

“Why yes, Cheryl. He’s the tall skinny boy out there.”

Now, by then, I was about to crap my pants. I told my dad I needed more iced tea and I ran home. Now I’m sitting here. Since nobody knows about Mike, lemme explain him to you:

He’s the kid that, in fourth grade, ran away from school. He ran across the highway and then hid in the woods until the police found him. He’s the kid who said he had porn stashed under his bed in third grade. He would play M-rated video games involving sex and violence before he was in 6th grade. He tried to beat me up but I opened a can of whoop-ass on him. He’s a B-A-D A-S-S P-U-N-K.

When I was in sixth grade, he moved. For good. I thought he was gone out of my life forever. Apparently, not.

let’s do lunch

Orientation today was awesome. Most of my teachers seem very nice. Mrs. Laroure looks like she’s a lot of fun, and she’s in Mr. Calia’s old room. Reading is gonna be cool this year. I also saw Mrs. Bridner and Mrs. Starr and we chatted for a while. They both really like my new hair.

Mr. Brown has already given me homework….sort of. He wants me to think of ideas for a project. Greeeeeaaaat. Nice way to start off the year. When we walked in, Mrs. Hutzel was on the phone, and remained so for about 3 minutes while I meandered around her room. Mrs. O’Connel asked if I do my homework and if she could read my handwriting. Mrs. Silverman nearly crapped her pants when I gave her a Snickers bar to show her that I had done my research about my teachers. And Mrs. Quinn asked if I had used Spanish over the summer. Mrs. Rudden made a funny face when she heard that I had Mrs. O’Connel, and she continued on to “warn” me about her. It was really funny. They all seem very down-to-business and it’s gonna be fun working with them.

Then I saw Mrs. Phillips. We have so much good stuff planned for this year, even though we didn’t get to talk that much. She was gonna call me today and we were gonna set up the studio because Mrs. Griffith wanted to go on air on the first day, and she wanted Colin to help, also. Since Colin’s mom was working at the open house he stayed and then he just set it up and I didn’t get to do DIDDLY SQUAT. DAMN YOU COLIN!!!!! XD Just playin. Not really. Instead I sat at home, watched Kathy Griffin’s “My Life on the D-List,” which was hilarious, and ate Bagel Bates. Not exactly ideal circumstances, but I survived.

Mrs. Phillips and I are going to do lunch some day this week so we can get all of our ideas circulating. This season is gonna be one to remember. This whole school year will be.

sleepless nights

Last night, in bed, I cried. Not becuase my life sucks, or someone just died, or anything like that. Because good things happened last school year, and I don’t want to let them go.

Last year, I had Chelsea. Chelsea is an extraordinary person. We fought a lot last year, but we learned a lot from eachother. I didn’t appreciate Chelsea as much as I should have, and I deeply regret that.

And Courtney is the other thing I want to do over. I don’t want to say what I said that one day in band. I wish we had been friends all along.

I also would have studied harder and done my homework every night. EVERY NIGHT. That would have made my grades so awesome.

But enough with the regrets.

I had awesome teachers. Even Mrs. MacPhee was cool. I looked inside each of them and realized something. The ones who are nice and fun are great, but the ones who are stricter need something. They need love. Mrs. MacPhee needed more friends. She needed people she could depend on and have fun with. That’s why she was so strict. She had so many feelings jammed inside her. I want to give her a big hug. A huge hug.

Plus, when there wasn’t any drama or fighting, my friends were with me. They were always there for me. And the people who weren’t with me, who were in fact against me, made me stronger. I learned that you can’t please everyone and it’s not your fault. They are the ones who have to suck it up. That might sound a little harsh but a certain person in particular taught me that.

I’m not ready to make last year the past….I want it back in the present……
