Wow! Awesome trip. Can’t even find words to describe it!
Here’s a day-by-day synopsis of how things played out:
Sunday Woke up at 5:30 A.M. Showered. Had a donut for breakfast. Packed luggage into car. Got neighbor to drive us to the airport. Roaslie threw up in the car! I’m not joking! She heaved up all her breakfast, but luckily there wasn’t very much of it. We determined that she was still able to travel, so we kept on going. We got into the airport, past security, and boarded the plane. Our flight took less time than expected, 1 hour and 32 minutes less than expected, so we landed in Orlando at about 10:30.
We got onto the shuttle and were driven to Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, where we unpacked and got ready for our first day in Disney World! At about 1, we left for lunch in the Food Court, which was wonderful. Then, we departed for MGM Studios. We did various things, such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Stars in Motorcars Parade, and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids set tour. Then, we ate in a buffet called “Hollywood and Vine” on Sunset Boulevard. The food was great!
After that, we got our seats in the Hollywood Hills Ampitheatre to see Fantasmic. It was amazing. It was a great show of special effects, including fire, fireworks, lights, just everything you can imagine. It was so awesome. After that, back to the hotel for the night.
Monday Animal Kingdom! That was a great day. We saw “It’s Tough to be a Bug”, we went on a Kilimanjaro Safari and saved Little Red, we went on Dinosaur and brought back a key to the future, ate lunch at Pizzafari, and had a wonderful dinner of African Buffet in the lavish Animal Kingdom Lodge. I don’t remember much else.
Tuesday Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, or Epcot! This was one of my favorite days. We discovered Soarin’, Disney’s awesome new ride that simulates flying over sunny California. We also bought little Danny a new camera card since he left his other one in Maryland!!! 200 pictures! Yay!
We also discovered the World Showcase, which was a wonderful showcase of 11 of the world’s countries. Each country had its own “pavilion”, or area, which is full of culture. Most of the places are like street corners or markets from the nation they represent, although Mexico’s pavilion was a big Aztec temple with a lagoon, market, and restaraunt inside. Many of the countries also had restaraunts/bakeries that we ate at, rides, and stores we visited. We spent most of our time here.
We also had dinner at the Germany pavilion, in Biergarten. I didn’t enjoy that particular meal very much.
Wednesday We visited Magic Kingdom. Once again, this day was kind of blurry in my memory.
I went on Splash Mountin four times since there was literally no line (55 degree weather explains that mystery)! I also rode on Space Mountain twice, which was awesome. I met Mickey, Gapetto, Minney, Pluto, and a plethora of other characters in the Magic Kingdom, also. One of my favorite attractions, however, was It’s a Small World, which was like a boat-ride through a river full of little dolls from every country singing “It’s a Small World After All”. It was very interesting!
We saw Cinderella’s crowning, also. It was a cool show.
For dinner, we ate at the Crystal Palace buffet. VERY SLOW! We waited 20 minutes just to get to the buffet. We also ate with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. More autographs and pics.
It was then that I realized that I hate buffets. They’re so akward! There’s no established etiquete and you never know when you can go around someone or when you have to stay behind them. It’s confusing.
We also stuck around for the fireworks show. Amazing.
Thursday MGM Studios again! I took the Backlot Tour twice! I love Catastrophe Canyon and the Harbor Attack. That’s the best attraction in MGM, even better than the Tower of Terror!
I also rode the Rockin’ Roller Coaster, ft. Aerosmith. That is some fast stuff, right there! And upside-down-y. I still enjoyed it.
We saw the Indiana Jones stunt spectacular, also! Oh. Em. Gee. That was freakin’ awesome! I loved it! It was just amazing. I was put into a total stupor.
We canceled our dinner reservations at the Magic Kingdom since we were having so much fun at MGM and ate at Hollywood and Vine again. Awesome food.
We stuck around to see Fantasmic again. This time, however, we sat in the front row. I was soaked. It was fun.
Friday Animal Kingdom and Epcot! In AK, we saw Tarzan Rocks and hung around, before going to Epcot, where we, had dinner, went on Soarin’, and bummed around the World Showcase.
While in Animal Kingdom, we saw and were in the Festival of the Lion King and an African Drummer show. The feelings were unexplainable.
Pretty laid-back day.
Saturday Our last day :( Sadness! We hung around by the pool for about four hours, until our shuttle picked us up and ushered us to the airport. Our flight left at 5:20, and we arrived home around 8:30.
If you want a peek at my pics, drop me an email or leave a comment.
As much as I wish I was still in Florida, I missed everybody and I’m glad to be back. :)
