A Happy Ending

It’s Over

BB has had her abortion, and her account of the experience is certainly moving. I reccommend it to everybody.? It can get kind of chilling sometimes, yet still it was a fantastic read and I couldn’t be happier for her. :)

I Love It!

These ads keep getting better and better!

Of course, there are also the completely nasty ones.

Killing Me Slowly

Things around here have been absolutely crazy lately. In three days (yesterday, today, tomorrow), I’ve had/have 1 quiz, 2 tests, and 2 exams, I had rehersal last week, I had HOMECOMING affairs, and I’ve had to put up with my usual craziness.

Luckily, things are going to majorly quiet down this weekend, and I should have some time to relax.

Until then!

My Life in Songs…

I’ve been working forever and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destinationI realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of
This brotherhood of man
For whatever that meansAnd so I cry sometimes
When I’m lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What’s in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What’s going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what’s going on?

Ooh, ooh ooh
And I try, oh my god do I try
I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution.

And so I cry sometimes
When I’m lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What’s in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What’s going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what’s going on?

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination

Depressed….For No Reason

I think I’ll get outta here, where I can
Run just as fast as I can
To the middle of nowhere
To the middle of my frustrated fears
And I swear you’re just like a pill
Instead of makin’ me better, you keep makin’ me ill
You keep makin’ me ill

(No, I’m not taking drugs)

Today: Maryland, Tomorrow: Tres Cantos?

So, apparently, Columbia has an exchange program with its sister city, Tres Cantos, Spain. Mrs. Chancellor was talking about it today, and it caughy my attention. It sounded like an awesome opportunity, and I was intriguied, so I went home and found some more information.

Since the program is through CA, it’s relatively cheap. You go to Tres Cantos for 17 days and stay with a host family. Then, you come back to the US for a week to prepare to host somebody from the family that hosted you. You host somebody for 17 days, and then they go back to Spain and the program’s over.

For some further information, I looked on the city’s official website and looked around the photo galleries.

Good lord, that place is AMAZING.

Absolutely Horrifying (with media)

The school board recently announced a shortage of bus drivers. No big deal, right?

Wrong.

This afternoon was the fourth time that we’ve been forced to share the bus with another whole bus-full of kids. 70 people riding a bus meant for 50. People are sitting on eachother, standing in the aisles, doing everything imaginable to fit 70 people onto this bus.

I’m outraged. I have cell phone pictures and video from the last few times this has happened, and I’m trying to get our story told. I’ve submitted tips to CNN, WBAL, WMAR, and WJZ to try and get some publicity on this story. Caroline is right, this has been an ongoing problem for some time now, but this year it’s been really bad.

I don’t want to sound like I’m pinning this on ONE person/party. There’s nothing the school/school board/bus driver etc. can do about this; there are simply not enough people who want to drive buses in the morning. Nobody should take the fall for this, beause there’s honestly nothing that can really be done.

I’m going to be very busy tonight, so more details to come later.

UPDATE: Channel 13 (WJZ) just called me back. They want to talk to me!

P.S. I apologize for the bad quality, but it’s the best my camera can do.

P.S.S. Please do NOT re-post these pictures or videos ANYWHERE else without my permission. I own these images and they cannot be posted ANYWHERE else.

High School Scares Me

But not in a literal way.

Don’t get me wrong; I love it.? Everything about it is wonderful.? The freedom you get, the way things are organized, all the stuff there is to do, it’s amazing.

But all these school shootings (3, 4 in the past week?) have scared the 14-year-old shit out of me.? If there are psychos out there willing to attack schools in other places (Canada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin?, I can’t remember where else…), whose to say that they won’t storm MY school?? Whose to say that I’m safe from this chaos?

Something horrible could happen tomorrow, and I could become a statistic. My face could be on the frontpage of CNN, with a caption explaining my tragic, early demise.

It’s just like that Weather Chanel series…It could happen tomorrow!? I don’t like having the cop hanging around in the atrium at lunch, but it’s for my own safety.? Why can’t all this madness just stop?!?

Where is the love?
