Yay!
I was just getting ready to blog and say that we were STILL waiting for the snow to start falling! I turned around to check one last time, and, alas, it’s snowing! And it’s like….REALLY snowing! It’s awesome…it started about ten minutes ago and it’s already starting to cover the deck. I would post pics, but unfortunately you can’t really see much of the snow right now on camera. I’ll put some on Flickr a little later.
Speaking of Flickr, I’ve decided to become more active there. My photostream hasn’t really been updated with new pictures in a couple of months, so I’ve decided to get back into photography. I found my camera today, and I realized that it really sucks. Very badly. All it can really do is take pictures, due to the fact that I dropped it last summer (2005?) and the little knobby thing broke. Originally, I just wasn’t able to zoom in, but then somehow the down knobby thing broke, so I couldn’t zoom in OR out OR access menus or anything. It was quite a horrible tragedy, if I do say so myself. But I’ll survive.
Anyway, I decided to do so because I realized that photography is a great medium with endless possibilities. I used to take so many pictures! I had so much fun with it, and then after I busted my camera, it just kind of…faded out. Last year, during our annual trip to Indiana, I took 195 pictures (the first knobbly thing broke at the end of that trip). This year, I took three. All of which I voluntarily deleted because they sucked. Now, grated, I did take a few with my mom’s camera, but still. I’ve enjoyed having a camera phone, which allows me to take pictures on-the-go easily (most of my recent FaceBook pictures are from my phone), but the quality isn’t wonderful.
So, look for updates to my Flickr page soon! ![]()
Just for fun, here’s a pic that I snapped during our one and only blizzard last year (click on the thumbnail for the larger version). I actually don’t remember too many of the details…I know that it started snowing pretty late at night. It was really dark out, and I was doing some random crap at the computer. Every time it’s supposed to snow, I glue my eyes to The Weather Channel website and refresh the radar map every ten seconds, waiting and hoping to see that huge cloud of white over the dot that says Columbia…hey, I can be excited, can’t I? But, this particular night, I was excited because it was a Wednesday, I think, and if it snowed enough, then it meant that there would be no school on Thursday, and we hadn’t had a snow day all year (It was already February!). It snowed and snowed all night after I went to bed, and when I woke up, there was no school!
Edit: It’s up on Flickr! I know, it’s not a lot of snow (yet), but it was enough to get Blasko to cancel rehearsal!
Did anybody watch Top Chef last night!? Dayum. I hate Marcel. I’m sorry, but I really do. I think he’s kind of a jerk and he looks like his name should be Wolfgang. But that’s just my opinion. ![]()
I really liked Cliff. I hadn’t seen too much of him, but I think he was a pretty good chef and I liked him a lot. It’s a shame that he had to act up like that…but I hafta give him props. Anybody that shows Marcel who’s boss wins in my book. As much as I hate to admit it, his dismissal was justified.
I do, however, really like Elia’s new hair. I think she looks very sophisticated and classy…she’s my favorite chef. I hope she wins!
On a side note, I’ve just started reading some of the Top Chef Blogs on Bravo recently, and I really like reading them. I like having an inside perspective on what’s going on on the show. You should check them out sometime. ![]()
Bye bye, Cingular! I’m gonna miss you! ![]()
I’m kind of disappointed about this! I think Cingular is a much cooler name than AT&T. And, I like the logo better. I hope this doesn’t mean a lot of big changes. I don’t want to have to have to start cutting back on SMS and wireless internet because of this. I really don’t want to switch carriers, though.
Blech. This is confusing.

I decided to take a couple of surveys on BlogThings (something I haven’t done in forever!). Here are my results:

I starting working on my science fair board today.
It looks somewhat awful. I was trying to be a good kid and measure everything out with my ruler and X-acto knife and then cut it nice and neatly so it looked all straight and wonderful and everybody liked it.
Well, somewhere along the line, that whole plan went down the drain.
I resorted to eye-balling everything. The cutting isn’t exactly straight or even or that good-looking, but it’s okay. It’s just like the science fair packet said; it’s a science project, not an art project.
I tried to make up for the atrocious cut job by using an attractive color scheme, and I guess that’s working out okay. I paired a really nice shade of blue for my headings with an almost-identical shade of blue paper. Too bad I’ll get points off if I use more than three colors on my board. Those damn science teachers’
Anyway, I have to do my experiments tomorrow and collect my data. I got an extension from Mrs. Duff (thank god), and my candles are supposed to come tomorrow in the mail.
Tomorrow, I have to finish up the little bit of midterm studying that I’ve started and collect data, blah blah blah. This whole midterms thing is getting very old, very fast. High school is kind of stupid.
I think that this is possibly the coolest thing I have seen this year.
I am in no way a Lord of the Rings fan (I saw some of the movies and started to read the first book. Keyword: started!), but I thought this was friggin’ awaesome.
If I had that much time, concentration, money, and dedication, I would be able to solve world poverty, cure AIDS, and fix my ingrown toenail, but, alas, I do not.
There’s a preview, in case you can’t click over or whatever, but I highly recommend that you do! There are more awesome pics of it on the author’s blog.
P.S.:
Today was very boring and uneventful…I guess it was a nice break from everything that’s been going on.
I performed my Kevin Federline monologue in drama today…I guess it went pretty well. I had to go first (blech), so I was kind of caught off-guard, but I think I pulled it off pretty well. I had a few memorization problems, but I think the fact that I was playing him as a drunk helped to disguise my errors.
In English, one of the counselors came in and talked to us about our schedule for next year. My prelim. schedule has the following classes:
- American Government G/T
- Chemistry G/T
- English 10 G/T
- Algebra II G/T
- Spanish III Honors
- Theater Arts II
- Independent Research
I think it looks pretty good…let’s just hope I can get into all of those classes.
P.E. was boring, per the usual. We had a sub because Mrs. Davis was an administrator today. He was pretty odd. We sat and talked the whole time.
Math was pretty uneventful. Mr. Smith gave us busy work to do the whole period. Katey and I talked about anything and everything. Lauren is now officially a junior (go Lauren)! Her counselor signed her early-graduation forms (finally). During lunch, I had an opportunity to put out one of the many fires burning through my social life. Nicole and I worked things out and we’re friends again. I’m happy about that.
Spanish was pretty fun. Ashley, Grace, and I talked about things going on with other people. We are very gossip-y. I love that class…the only thing was that our social hour seemed to piss Mrs. Chancellor off. We were doing our work, just not with our mouths shut. :silly:
History was horrible…Mr. Wiley is a nice person and all, but I find his teaching extremely dull. I wanted to punch Jesse in the face. He never shuts up! Same with Ross. They did a nice and tidy job of pissing the class off.
One thing that I’m still worried about is my relationship with Margaret…we talked things over a bit before class started, but I still feel like there’s some bad feelings between us. It’s very akward…I value our friendship so highly, and it would suck to lose it over bull like this.
I finally found Mrs. Duff and talked to her…she said I could take my assesament on Tuesday and that I could have an extension on my science project, thank god! I finally got my materials today. Needless to say, this project will most likely not represent my best work. Oh, well. That’s life.
PS – I just got my invite to the Independent Research presentation in the mail! Go me! :w00t:
