Think Different

Here’s to the crazy ones.

The misfits.

The rebels.

The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules

And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing that you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.

They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?

Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can
change the world, are the ones who do.

A Busy Week

Well, damn.

This week has been pretty busy.

On Saturday, we waved goodbye to Reba (the show). The series finale aired on Sunday…I know I didn’t start watching the show until last season, but it was still an awesome show. I’m sad to see it go! At least they have (practically) the whole show on DVD…can you say Christmas present?

I had my English presentation on Tuesday. I was totally freaking out about it and I felt that I wasn’t prepared and that I was going to mess up and blah-blah blah-normal-nervous-banter-that-goes-on-in-my-head. It went wonderfully! I was really proud of myself, and the whole class seemed to really enjoy it. Most of the other projects were really good, too. It was a fun experience, and I’m actually glad we did it. I haven’t had any presentations or performances lately and I was thankful to be in front of people again…I was going into withdrawal.

We finished learning Hand Jive for Grease. The dance is so much fun…it’s awesome! Claire and I are the final couple to get eliminated before it’s down to the “main couples” or whatever you wanna call them. The choreography is a lot of fun! It’s really interesting, too. High school musicals are so much better than other shows I’ve done. There’s another layer of complexity. There’s more harmony, variety in the dances, etc. I love it!

I had my science fair presentation today. Blech. I really didn’t want to go, and I was extremely bored by the whole event. I hadn’t really even looked at/thought about my project since my presentation (over a month ago), but all things considered, I think the presentation went well. I scored major projects with the judges because my project was relevant (there were real-world applications). I felt really out of place, though, because all of these other projects had paragraphs and paragraphs (literally) of information on the boards, and I had horrible cutting, TWO whole paragraphs, and blurry pictures. Oh, well. My presentation was very thorough and I new what I was talking about. I’m not expecting to place, though.

I Took The Fall Part 2

Post #2 in a series of who the hell really knows how many?

Last night, I told you that I loved you.

We said nothing more.

Now, things are…different between us. Almost akward.

Say something. Do something. I need some closure.

I’m searching for some kind of sign.
Every move, every tiny gesture,
Only proves you’re not mine.
I could write you a thousand love songs,
Search the world for the perfect tune and rhyme,
But what good would when it seems I’m out of time?

A Week of Wonderful Television in Review

As some of you know, I’m not a huge television watcher. I have six or seven shows that I watch religiously, but other than that I don’t really watch too much television. This week, I was delightfully surprised with what I saw! I’ll go in chronological order:

  • Sunday – The Apprentice was pretty good. Am I the only one who noticed that the shot of them two making out by the pool was in a trailer for an episode last month? At least we finally get to find out who it is soon (tonight, right?), although we all have a pretty good idea of who it is. It was funny how they ended up selling the honey. Not an awesome episode, but I still enjoyed it.
  • Wednesday – One of my favorite shows right now is Lost. I was totally obsessed with it last year, and then when it came back on in October, I was very disappointed. I felt that it was very lacking, as did many other people. Now, however, I’m really starting to love it again. I love Juliet as a character, and last week’s episode was wonderful. Lots of revelations! Desmond’s story this week was very interesting, also. I’m still kind of confused about it, though. That old woman freaks me out. By the way, Jericho comes back on this week!
  • Thursday – Ugly Betty was a lot of fun. It was pretty awesome how Whilamena stood of up for Alexis. I love seeing Daniel and Alexis getting along together. They have wonderful chemistry. I feel sorry for Whilamena, though…the did get screwed. I think she’s a good person inside (as we’ve seen previously), but she doesn’t want to let herself out. We’ll see how this plays out…by the way, was that the season finale? That’s what I had heard, but there’s nothing about it on ABC or anything. Grey’s Anatomy was awesome. I knew that Meredith wouldn’t die, but the last scene with Denny and what’s his face was pretty freaky. I found a spoiler site (thanks Kathleen) that I can send you the link to if you want to find out what happens…I couldn’t stop myself from reading it. Next week’s episode is gonna be awesome!  By the way, did anybody see the Ugly Betty/Grey’s Anatomy spoofs on MadTV last night?  They were hilarious!
  • Friday – Instant Star (Season 3 Premiere) was awesome. I’m thinking that I want to kill Karma. I find her quite annoying. But I love the new song (I Don’t Know If I Should Stay)! I cannot wait until April when the soundtrack comes out…but did you hear the news?! Speiderman and Karma are going to be singing a bunch of the songs (Alexz is only singing five of the songs on the album! Capitol Records didn’t want people to confuse the IS3 soundtrack with Alexz’s debut album.) on the soundtrack. Thankfully, Alexz is singing all of the songs on the show. I love her voice…I really hope at least SOME of the songs get leaked onto LimeWire or something…April is TOO FAR OFF!

So, there you have it, folks.  Let’s hope this week will be even better!

Sorry, I’ve Been Busy Philosiphizing

Am I really so strong and independent?

Am I the person that doesn’t need to “depend on somebody else for what I ought to have inside myself”?

Or am I just afraid of committal?

Am I afraid to take the fall? Am I sick of having nobody there to catch me?

I’m just floating, drifting through everything. Somebody pull me out of the water.

Where’s my will?
Can I find a way?
The earth is wild,
And I can’t sit still.

A familiar sound,
A familiar voice
Makes it so hard
To make a choice.
I don’t know if i should stay.

I’m into you like water;
I’ve thrown my body in,
And I’ll stand up on the ocean,
Just to show you that I am strong.
But what if i am wrong?

A familiar smile,
A familiar look,
Make it so hard
To make a choice,
I don’t know if i should stay.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I woke up thinking that I would be alone this Valentine’s Day, but at the last minute, I asked Claire to be mine this year, and she said yes!

I guess I’m going to pass stuff out tomorrow at school…I hope everybody is having an awesome holiday (and snow day!!!)!

New iPod?!

I think I’m finally going to be getting a new iPod soon! I made this deal with my parents that they would match whatever money I had to buy my new iPod with (they would pay for half of it). I only need $50 more! I want to get an iPod Video. My retro Green iPod Mini has been wonderful, but I’m outgrowing it and it’s covered in scratches and stuff. I’ll update you guys when I finally have enough money to buy this sucker.
