Free Thinking and Myspace

So, apparently the Chinese government thinks I’m a free thinker…my URL is blocked in China. :)

Great Firewall of China

I feel special. :D

One of the things I’ve been thinking about a lot recently is MySpace…I remember I deleted mine back in November, and I really wasn’t thinking about it too much recently. It seems like EVERYBODY has one these days, and the only things that MySpace has that Facebook doesn’t have are music profiles and customization.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not a CSS whore who had everything imaginable on his MySpace; I had some nice, simple CSS that took about two seconds to load and made my profile look wonderful.

I kind of feel like I’m missing out. But, then again, MySpace is pretty much everything that I’m against…but I was also the fifth or sixth Mayfield person to jump onto the MySpace bandwagon in seventh grade (which was outrageous…middle schoolers don’t need MySpace!)

I’m very confused…my free-thinking mind is going to go think this over.

Let It Be

Nature is pretty.

The weather our here over the past few days has been wonderful and I’ve been spending a lot of time outside, which is not something that I do often…I guess I’m kind of an indoors person. Okay, more like indoors-with-the-windows-open person.

There are so many beautiful things out there…flowers, trees, bugs, animals. I started thinking about it, and I got very philosophical.

Why do we need to understand nature? Nothing out there is really hurting is, is it? Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just leave some things a mystery?

Don’t Do Drugs

So, we had a drug sweep today.

15 people were arrested. =P

Mr. Horner took us outside to do “literary readings” of our short stories at the beginning of first period. We got out there about ten minutes after the period had begun, and then they made an announcement that nobody could leave their classrooms and that all wondering students needed to “be escorted to the cafeteria”. We all thought it was one of those horrible hall sweeps that they do every so often, so nobody worried about it. We sat in the cold for another 30 minutes and listened to stories, and then we decided to go back and finish reading inside.

All of the outside doors were locked, so we were trying to find an open door to go through when Mr. Evans came out and practically had a conniption. He asked us what we were doing and why we were outside and Mr. Horner explained what we were doing. Evans stood there for about five minutes and then told us that we needed to wait outside until the end of the period.

Hell no. It was 40 degrees!

Mr. Horner asked him if there was any other place we could go, and so Evans knocked on the door of one of the portables, and Webster told us that they were taking a test, so we would have to be quiet. We were getting ready to go in and be quiet when Evans slammed the door shut and said “Well then, you’re going to have to wait out here!” and began to walk away. Mr. Horner went up to him and convinced him to let us go inside. He finally let us go inside, but of course we couldn’t go back to the classroom because then we might see a dog or an officer, which would totally be the end of the world!

He locked us in the axillary gym and we placed duck-duck-goose for twenty minutes, and then the sweep was over. :)

There were people that got it worse than us, though. The dancers were stuck in the dance room and they couldn’t practice because their music was across the hall (hallways were CLOSED). The Drama class in second period got locked in the tech booth! We did our “tour” of the theater today which involved vising the catwalks (scary), the scene shop, and the tech booth. Since you need to walk out into the hallway to get into the booth, they couldn’t leave it once the sweep started! They were locked up there for 40 minutes!

High School is Killing Me

10:30 PM.

I’ve just finished writing my Cystic Fibrosis paper for Health. Today, she decided to inform us that this project was due at the end of the week, not after Spring Break like she had originally announced. I wrote the whole paper today and I have to assemble the whole presentation tomorrow.

I’ve just finished studying for my math test, which is tomorrow. On Thursday, I have a Spanish quiz and a History assessment, and on Friday there’s supposed to be a mock Biology HSA.

I had a two-hour rehearsal today and another tomorrow.

All of that work + rehearsals = BAD.

P.S. Dear Spring Break: Please come soon.

Please Pray

Today was extremely nerve-wracking for me…three of my friends all had medical emergencies within five hours of eachother! Two things happened at lunch and one of my best techie friends was injured moving sets today at rehearsal.

Out of respect for their privacy, I’m not going to say anything else, but I’m very shook up right now. I haven’t really heard from two of them (including the one who had the most serious incident), but the other one is doing alright.

Please keep them in your thoughts.

Blondes Really DO Have More Fun!

Here’s the latest pic of my new hair + new sexy sunglasses:

SEXY BITCH

I’m lovin’ it!

(PS – My permalinks are FINALLY FIXED! YES!)

Back in Blonde

So.

I’m a blonde again. :)

I just washed the dye out and applied the conditioner.

I tried a new brand of dye this time, and now it’s much blonder than it usually is when I dye it. I’m very satisfied! I can’t wait for everybody to see it…and I’m gonna post pics as soon as I got a good one taken!

So, we had rehearsal today since there was no school. We got the very final scene blocked! As of now, all of the play except for Greased Lightning is blocked. Unfortunately, Blasko is making us stay an hour later tomorrow to finish that song because she neglected to schedule in a time for it. That kind of majorly sucks, considering that now it’s going to be a 6-hour rehearsal. And because I’m kind of on awkward terms with a certain somebody right now…somebody that I have to dance with. I’m extremely…I don’t even know the word to describe it. Not mad or sad but…kind of confused. We’re both kind of in the middle of playing the “ignore-the-other-person-and-hope-they-disappear” game, which doesn’t exactly work when you’re at a rehearsal. I’m really hoping that this problem will go away soon, maybe solve itself? Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure that that isn’t going to happen any time soon.

Anyways, I’d better get to bed. This six-hour rehearsal is way too long and way too early for me, but oh, well. Oh, and I’m trying to get the permalinks fixed right now. I’m in contact with WordPress support and my host. I’ve temporarily reverted the permalinks to a different (and kind of ugly) format. For example, if you wanted to access this post, the URL would now be http://the-madness.net/index.php/2007/03/23/back-in/blonde/ Basically the same thing, except for that NASTY index.php. I hate that.

For The Forgotten

Dedicated to all of those people in my life who are about to crash…and trust me, there are many of us.

Am I another casualty
In the battle you’re fighting?
You’re your own worst enemy,
At war with yourself, but you can’t see.

And I can’t stand to watch,
You’re, coming, coming fast,
Everywhere you go it seems that lighting strikes and then you crash,
I don’t know how you do it,
It always ends the same,
Everywhere you go it seems lightning strikes but there’s no rain, no rain.

Feel like you’re moving in slow motion,
And you don’t know where you’re going,
You tried it all and it’s too boring,
Tighten up your grip cause it’s a long way down.

And I can’t stand to watch,
You’re, coming, coming fast,
Everywhere you go it seems lighting strikes and then you crash,
I don’t know how you do it,
It always ends the same,
Everywhere you go it seems lightning strikes but there’s no rain.

Watching you slip away,
It’s getting harder everyday,
When you’re coming down like a hurricane,
I can’t stand to see you in pain,
So I just look away.

I can’t stand to watch,
You’re, coming, coming fast,
Everywhere you go it seems lighting strikes and then you crash,
I don’t know how you do it,
It always ends the same,
Everywhere you go it seems lightning strikes but there’s no rain, no rain, no rain…

Lightening strikes but there’s no rain.
