Maps For Us
A few months back, I created a page titled “Photoblog”, where I posted my favorite pictures that I had taken. Since I have been busy with other projects, the photoblog page sort of fell into disrepair and hadn’t been updated since its creation.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Photoblog v2.0! Not only are there new photos, but this page has its own theme that is more appropriate for a photoblog. You can visit the page by clicking the screenshot below or via the link in the navigation bar above.

I hate when my printer runs out of paper…I need to print this monologue out for Drama tomorrow and I have no paper! Darn!
This year isn’t going to be as bad as I thought it was going to be. All of my teachers seem very nice and they seem like really good teachers, so I’m pretty excited for this year! Here’s the period-by-period rundown:
- O’Brien kind of scares me a little bit sort of. He’s very intimidating and when he looks at you, it feels like he’s burning a hole through your head. He does, however, seem really interesting and I’m excited for his class!
- Krishnamurthy seems really cool! She didn’t seem as tough as I had heard, and the class sounds very interesting. I like how she makes real-world connections and the demonstrations that she did today were really cool.
- Independent Research sounds like an awesome class! Mrs. McAllister seems really nice, and I’m looking forward to picking my topic for this year.
- I hate fourth period because it’s so long. And it’s math. But Mayer doesn’t seen as bad as people had said…she just seems a bit offbeat. As far as curriculum goes, however, I’m screwed. I didn’t remember half of the stuff that she had us do today….I haven’t taken Algebra since middle school! Plus, I sit with freshmen. :[
- Yay for drama! I really missed that class over the summer. I really like the people in this class. It felt good to be back in the auditorium. Auditions for Father of the Bride are on September 11 in the auditorium. I’m excited! I’m still disappointed that Madrigals was scheduled that same period…we were missing a lot of cool people!
- Dungey…where do I start? She doesn’t seem as crazy as people had said, but she seems really serious. But I’m not complaining; I get to sit with Ashley!
I have Spanish tomorrow, so I’ll tell you about that tomorrow night. Overall, this year seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun! I have a bunch of friends in my classes, and the teachers seem really cool. Yay for sophomore year (and not having to put up with Batenga being our dean)!
I can’t believe it’s almost over…the last 12 sun-drenched hours of Summer ‘07 are fading away as quickly as they came upon us. I find it appropriate to do a roundup of everything that happened over the summer.

It’s been a great (and busy) summer! I can’t believe that it’s almost over. It seems like it just started a few weeks ago. I’ve met so many amazing people this summer and done so many great things! I’m not ready to go back to school…

R.I.P. Summer 2007
The Unofficial Apple Weblog is reporting that an Apple event is planned for September 5th, and that new iPods will be announced then. The iPod line has not been updated for a while (since the new Shuffles in January), and September has traditionally been a month for new iPods.
Since I’m looking to buy a new iPod (sorry green Mini, you’re just a bit too retro for me now), I really really want the fifth to come. Honestly, none of the iPods that are currently for sale thrill me. The iPod (the video one) is alright except that its screen is too small to watch a movie on, the Nano doesn’t have enough memory for what I need, and the shuffle isn’t what I’m looking for.
Here are all the rumor sites/blogs that I’ve been following, hoping for a leaked picture or confirmation or something.
According to these sources, the general consensus seems to be somewhere along these lines:
Of course, if the new iPods really aren’t that great, I’ll just take the dive and buy an iPhone!
Yes, my blog now has ads. And I know that I’ve said before that I am against the monetization of my blog and I would never use ads. Well, these ads aren’t so much for money as they are for traffic.
Blog traffic isn’t that important to me, but I really want to have a readerbase. Right now, it’s pretty small and I’m not getting tons of traffic, but hopefully with the use of these ads from Blog Mad, I can get a bit more traffic. I’ve put my text/banner ads into the rotation, and I’m displaying text/banner ads of others, also.
You can see that there is a small, unobtrusive box in my sidebar under my Flickr badge, and there is a banner rotation at the bottom of the page, under a banner from irrepressible.info (a cause that I support and voluntarily placed a banner for; visit the site for more info.) The banner is different with each pageview, and the text box rotates every once in a while.
Note: I will never place any of the following on my site:
- Snap Previews (I had those at wp.com…I hate them)
- Scripts that disguise random keywords as links that I post and link them to ad sites.
- Ad splash pages (Pages that say “themadness will load in 30 seconds, after this ad from our sponsors. Click here to continue..etc.).
- Popups…those are so 2004!
I’m not sure if these ads will stay around for a while; I’m going to decide based on the traffic that they bring me. I hope this doesn’t degrade your experience here…thanks for understanding!
Drinks with alcohol in them taste nasty. Needles scare me. I consume things through my mouth, not my nose. Burning things should be used for light or power or extinguished, not inhaled. I do not need to experience different states of mind; there is more than enough in this one to keep me interested for countless lifetimes.
