I’ve Been Blogging For Three Years

And I’ve never posted on Halloween.  So, here’s my first Halloween post.  Yay.

I’m gonna post pics and stats tomorrow.  Happy almost November!  :)

Gotta Do Better

Today in English, Dung-heap told me that if I get check-plusses on both of those dumb analysis papers that we have to write, then I can raise my final grade to an “A” in time for report cards…the problem is, I would completely have to re-write one of them.  They’re due on Thursday, and I don’t want to do homework on Halloween, so I have a ton of homework to do tonight.

Oh, joy.  It’s going to be an interesting evening.

Say It Isn’t So!

According to The Washington Post, one Reese’s Cup has 110 calories?  WTF?

Please die.

Love,

Danny

P.S. – Although making Dung-heap sick was a nice gesture, making Horndog our sub kind of ruined the whole thing. Next time you want to impress me, try harder.

A Mexican Christmas in October

So, I’m almost done writing my two papers for English class and I decided to take a break and blog.

I’m already working on my Christmas design for this year…I have a feeling that it’s going to use one of these headers from iStockphoto. I’m still conceptualizing the design, but I know that I’m gonna bring back the falling snow that we all love so much. I think the color scheme is going to be either blue or red, maybe green (but probably not).

But beyond that, I haven’t really come up with anything else. I still have about a month before my December 1st deadline, which is plenty of time. I’m gonna wow you this year. :)

Oh, and the “Mexican” in the “Mexican Christmas in October”? I just had a really tasty burrito. It was heaven on earth.

Would Ms. Mayer Give Me Credit For This?

Probably not…

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

I WANT IT!

Oh god, it looks amazing.  The GUI looks better than ever, and it’s loaded with tons of new features.  I want it so badly.  I would kill for it.

I might be getting a MacBook for Christmas this year, so I’ll get my hands on Leopard if I get it.

Planet in Peril

CNN’s four-hour, two-night special Planet in Peril aired Tuesday and Wednesday, and it was amazing.

Let me start off by saying that the videography was amazing. I enjoyed every minute of the four hours because there was always something beautiful and interesting on the screen; the macro shots were gorgeous and the landscapes were stunning. This would have been an amazing show to watch in HD, but unfortunately we don’t have the CNNHD channel in Maryland yet. Regardless, it was beautiful.

The information about climate change contained within the special was extremely intriguing; I learned more in those four hours than I’ve learned in ten years of school about global warming, the effect of humans on the Earth, and what’s going to happen if we don’t take action and stop climate change. There was also a line that I found very interesting; Anderson Cooper said towards the end of the second night that “We’re not here to advocate, we’re here to report.” It was interesting that both sides of global warming were presented. They explained how humans are having a large effect on the environment and they described all the damage that we’re doing, but another interesting school of thought was presented. I was fascinated by the idea that some of the climate change was naturally-occurring (such as the ’sinking island’). Although it is obvious that humans are destroying this planet, it was interesting that some of the change could be purely natural.

Anderson Cooper, Jeff Corwin, and Sanjay Gupta were also great hosts. They seemed knowledeable about what they were presenting, and they made the special even more fascinating.

Overall, it was an incredible documentary. It really brought some more issues that were related to climate change into light, and hopefully this will encourage people to start working for change and try to reverse some of the damage that we’ve done.
