Today, there was a gas leak in my sixth period English class. Somebody randomly yelled out, “Does anybody smell gas?” and all of us kind of did, so Dungey (who also smelt it) called the building administrator. But who comes? Not the building administrator! Mr. Batenga, who might possibly be the least helpful and scariest administrator in the school. At that point, I knew we were screwed and destined to die of natural gas poisoning.
So, he walks in and randomly walks around the room for five minutes. After that, he walked up to the front of the class and declared that he smelled nothing. Nothing at all. Then, the building administrator (I don’t know his name) walked in and said that he definitely smelt something, and him and Batenga proceeded to argue about whether or not our classroom was being inundated with natural gas.
Several minutes later, we were all ridiculously woozy and light-headed so Dungey asked Batenga if we could go into the hall. He actually had to consider letting us leave the room. Are you kidding me? We’re all inhaling harmful gas, and somebody has to convince him to let us leave the room.
We got to resume class in the media center. Right before the bell rang, one of the utility workers came in and informed us that, apparently, twenty-two alleged hypochondriacs all hallucinated and that there never was any gas in the room. Because you know that makes tons of sense.
At least when I come home after a long day and need to binge, I binge on Special K. I could be inhaling dangerous amounts of chocolate or ice cream or pizza (yummy!), but I choose instead to binge on low-fat, -calorie, -sodium, and -sugar cereal that has vitamin C and iron. That’s an acceptable compromise, right?
But what, you may ask, is the reason for binging? I can’t stand school anymore. It’s gotten to the point where it’s all so pointless and ridiculous. And the drama teacher who shall remain nameless even though you all already know her name is pushing me over the edge. Making me do idiotic, pointless improv ‘games’ that are ‘fun’. And then when I resist, said drama teacher is even more of an evil biyotch than normal. And telling me things like I’m not a very good actor? PUHLEEEEESE. It’s on.
Ugh. I am now regretting eating all that Special K. I wish I had an eating disorder, but I can’t stomach trying to induce vomiting (no pun intended. sorry.). That was in poor taste (taste…food…eating disorder…damn. I’m really not doing this on purpose). My bad.
And to top it all off, here’s how my most recent attempt at making cookies resulted:

Is it Friday yet?
So, I’m thinking that spring is here. Finally. Not only is the weather is beautiful, but it just feels like spring outside…you know the feeling?
I went running this morning, and it felt great (although it was cut short because I didn’t stretch enough and my calves were killing me). The landscapers were working today, so it smells like freshly-cut grass and flowers outside, which was wonderful. It’s also 75 degrees today, which makes it even better. It’s a nice break from the insanity that I’ve endured recently.
I know I posted about it earlier, but I’m kind of sad that Oz! is over now. Although there were times when I wanted to pull all of my hair out and die, the kids there were pretty nice, and working on the show was fun (I got to work with some great people!). Luckily, my next show goes into rehearsals in a month or two, so I won’t have to wait too much longer for more drama in my life.
On a closing note: thank god for PA! GO HILLARY!

Phew.
Is it really Saturday already? So many things have been going on that I seem to have lost track of time in the past week. Production began on Oz! on Monday, which was…chaotic. I found myself working 13- and 15-hour days (with school and rehearsal) and coming home exhausted and barely being able to sleep.
The show opened last night and it was actually pretty good. Definitely better than I expected. Sound (designed by yours truly) was wonderful, lights were pretty good, and stage crew was questionable (but better than before). The cast seemed pretty together. The first act was spectacular, as was most of the second act. Only one scene fell flat on its face, but it quickly rebounded.
The show closes tonight, and I’m excited. It’s been a great experience to work with these kids and getting to know them has been wonderful. I’ve appreciated all of the opportunities that I’ve been given, and I hope tonight’s show runs smoothly. :)
I’ve officially decided that I am never ever ever going to have children. Ever.
And if for some reason I go mentally insane and have children, I’m going to teach them to write microphone plots and lighting cue manifests at an early age so that they’re more like apprentices and will learn not to annoy me.
