Whoever said that blogging and tweeting has no positive impact on your life can suck it. Two weeks ago, I tweeted that I had an abundance of dirty laundry. I took this pic immediately after that tweet:

I felt so motivated and I was fearful of letting down my tens of blog readers/twitter subscribers. So, I did some laundry. My closet currently:

I am such a good person.
Breaking: ABC benches ‘Ugly Betty’ – EW.com
Are you kidding me? Which amazing show will be cancelled next? First it was Reba, then Jericho, then Instant Star, then Miss-Guided, then Eli Stone, then Pushing Daisies, and now Ugly Betty? Granted, the haven’t gone so far as to cancel it, but this seems to be a red flag of sorts. What shows are left to watch?! Lost and Grey’s Anatomy. And honestly, GA has gotten a little mundane for me and VERY predictable. I have to be honest in saying that I wouldn’t be upset if last week’s episode was the finale. It was a good episode to close on. Just give me an Owen & Cristina spinoff (and not Private Practice, that show is horrible) and I’ll be happy.
But, I digress. This is really getting out of hand. I went from following six primetime series on ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox to watching two because all of the good shows were cancelled! I spend more time watching CNN and Bravo than any of the old networks. I must say that I am happy to see Samantha Who? returning, but not at the expense of Betty.
What I’m surprised at the most is that networks haven’t figured out that people would rather watch these shows than The Bachelor, Survivor 66254, Amazing Race 984625, etc. The only good reality shows these days are coming off of Bravo (Top Chef, Flipping Out, Kathy Griffin, Real Housewives, etc.).
THIS SUCKS!!!
(Oh and PS – if anybody else is getting fed up, maybe you should shift your entertainment sources from television and movies to live theater, eh? Help me pay my bills? Haha…)
I am not a forgiving person. I like to think that I am, but I am not. Three years ago, I have had a previous negative encounter with the Lean Cuisine Lemongrass Chicken meal in which I described it as “the most unpleasant food in the history of the world“. For whatever reason, I decided to revisit this old enemy and try to make things right between us.
It didn’t work out.
I forgot that the chicken tasted like roadkill soaked in Lemon Pledge. The rice has no flavor whatsoever. The vegetables are soggy and have little taste. I am NEVER eating this thing again.

My mouth still tastes like bathroom floor.
I’m not going to lie, I was excited for the inauguration today. It is the end of an era and it truly signified the start of something new (note my hesitance to use the word “change”). I will also be completely frank in saying that I am still not on board the Obama express. As much as I have tried to move on, there are some things that can not (and should not) be ignored. Things that you cannot just put in a box and shove into the closet.
But maybe, just maybe, moving on isn’t the right thing to do. Maybe we need a revolution.

First snow of the year! I grabbed some purple tulips that we had from the Ravens game last night, threw ‘em outside and snapped some pics. I love the contrast- not only in color but also with the whole spring vs. winter motif.
Back in the good ol’ days, it was reguarly below freezing. It seemed like every year there was at least one snowstorm that left us with 2 feet of snow and closed school for a couple of days.
The last huge blizzard that we had was when I was in fifth grade over President’s Day weekend 2002. It was epic; there was no school for a week and it literally snowed for four days straight. Every morning there was fresh new snow to play in (and shovel). Walking down the sidewalk was like walking through a tunnel because the snow was piled up so high around us.
But, alas, this hasn’t happened in a while. It hasn’t even been cold enough for that to happen since then. These days, the snow that we get is only allowed to stay frozen while it’s snowing because the next day, when the storm is gone, it gets sunny and warm and the snow all melts.
Last weekend would have been a perfect time for a blizzard because it has been bitterly freezing here all week. The temperature has seldom risen about 25 degrees (it hasn’t been above 20 for the past two or three days!) so the snow could actually hang around for a while before it melts.
Did it snow? Of course not!
There has been tons of ice, though. I have fond memories of late-90’s elementary school. Every morning during the winter there was always a patch of frozen ice that we would “skate” on while we waited for the bus. Until this week, I hadn’t seen it since then. It was fun to see it again.
And in addition to the nostalgic ice patch on the street, the creek behind my house has frozen completely over. The ice is not enough to walk all the way over, but it is frozen nonetheless.

(Yes, I was wearing my pajamas.)

Now all we need is some FREAKING SNOW!
It was supposed to snow heavily yesterday.

It snowed for five minutes and then began to rain. Heavily.
