It happens every summer. I should have seen it coming! But, alas, my sleeping habits and internal clock/body clock/biological clock (can’t remember which one talks about your sleeping cycles and which one is about having a baby before you’re too old) are once again completely thrown off and I’m up late into the night.
It is now 11:37 P.M. and I’ve just spent the last two hours trying to clear some space on my computer and to delete/organize the big mess of files that has amassed on my hard drive. I think I’ve done pretty well, though. Here’s my desktop:

See? When I stay up at night I’m at least productive. I could be sitting around eating and watching TV, but I’m (sort of) cleaning. Thanks to my efforts, my desktop is now clean and wonderful (and less embarassing). Plus, I got rid of 3GB of crap! (PS – RIP Billy Mays! :[ So unfotunate.)

What a tragic and untimely death…I’m still stunned. Although we didn’t exactly grow up with your music, my generation still recognizes the profound and lasting impact that you had on music. You will be missed.
It was so weird when I found out that you were in the hospital. I read it on TMZ while I was getting ready to go see Kathy Griffin last night, and then I kept trying to get updates on my iPhone in the car on the way to the show. You brought down the entire internet, sir. TMZ, CNN, Twitter, and the AP (just to name a few) were all frozen in time for a while, and when they were finally back online and confirming what had transpired, the feeling was unreal. Rest in peace.

As somebody whose life has been touched by cancer, it has been especially hard for me to watch your battle with cancer unfold. I’m glad that you are in a better place now and out of your misery.

Last night, I had my moment of validity, a.k.a. my “So Much Better” moment (if we can speak in Legally Blonde terminology)! I had been totally nervous and scared of messing up majorly for the show that I’m working on right now, but evidently I am doing a great job and not messing up majorly and burning the show down to the ground! I love moments like this (some people wait a lifetime! was that a bad music joke?). :]
I went out to lunch with Cara today and we had the best time. It was awesome for us to catch up on what was going on with each other and to spill the beans on some stuff that we had been holding in for way too long. I feel so much better about a ton of stuff now. We literally sat at Panera for four hours and just dished it to eachother and it was fantastic.

This was my entire year’s worth of schoolwork (with a water bottle for scale). It was a killer year and it was very empowering to throw the entire pile into the recycling bin.

I think I need to clear some space on my bulletin board.

I bought a new keyboard today! My old Apple Pro Keyboard (picture here) finally kicked the bucket after three years; the right shift key and several of the keys on the number pad mysteriously all stopped working at once (which leads me to believe that somebody may have caused this malfunction), so I drove to the Apple store today and bought the amazing new keyboard (and by “new” I mean that it was new for me). It’s aluminum and extremely thin and it just looks cool! I love it!
Whilst browsing at the Apple store, I came across the iPhone 3G S and instantly fell in love. I will be buying one first thing on January 24, 2010 when I become eligible for an upgrade at AT&T. I’m super excited. :)
It’s finally summer!
All of my finals are over and I can finally relax and sleep in and not do homework and have time to blog.
It’s a good feeling. :)
Dear Blue Van,
Sorry for cutting you off. I wasn’t really paying enough attention while turning. Hope you’re not too pissed at me.
Dear PNC Bank ATM,
Suck it! You slapped with a $3 surcharge to withdraw $5 even after I hit the cancel button!
Dear GoPhone,
It’s sucked been nice but I’m sick of you and your inability to do…well, anything, really. I’m so ready to get my replacement iPhone tonight. I’ve felt so deprived and disconnected for the past three days.
Dear Top Chef Masters,
I’m excited for your premiere tonight! Although I will miss Padma and Gail, you look promising and entertaining. I miss my Wednesday night food porn!
Dear humidity,
Go away.
Love,
Danny

Five new pairs of flip flops for summer. Pretty awesome. I love Old Navy. :)
