Quotes from the two shows that are currently consuming my life that also describe how I’m feeling right now:
“I have a good life: great parents, my own room, stacks of 45′s, three sweaters, plus a learner’s permit good through August.”
“I’m almost to the moon and I didn’t need a rocket.”
Life is good. I’m loving a life where I work late into the night and get to sleep in and have the afternoons to myself. I really don’t want to go to college in the fall…

I bought a new bedspread today from Target…navy blue comforter (reversible! with light blue on the back), brown sheets and yellow pillowcases. It’s so cool that I decided to share. (Oh, and it’s vaguely reminiscent of an old blog theme that I used back in the day!)
The big day is tomorrow…I don’t even know what to say.
- Learn to play the piano
- Buy a car
- Continuer apprendre du français
- Mantener mi conocimiento del español
- Take more pictures
- Go to Spain
- Blog more frequently
The award for the most racist and offending Cinco de Mayo segment goes to CNN! Tonight’s John King leadout was a segment called “Pedro en El Calle”.

Alright…first of all, it’s LA calle, not el calle. Secondly, I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to film this fool running around wearing a mini sombrero and passing out nachos in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Third, the Spanish language was butchered throughout this segment.
Very classy, CNN…
It’s May of senior year. Let’s do this thing!
I was running low on funds yesterday (payday tonight – hallelujah!) and craving ice cream. I had an empty tank of gas and just about enough money in my checking account to fill that tank so I decided to make the mature decision and fill my tank.
Instead of blowing my money on ice cream, I took to the internet and googled “free ice cream coupon“. The first result (which may or may not be the website of a popular ice creamery!) prompted me to sign up for their birthday club to receive a coupon for free ice cream on my birthday. How perfect! I may have gone temporarily insane and said that my birthday was April 24 because somehow a coupon showed up in my email inbox!
I hopped in my car and hurried over to unnamed ice creamery and had the misfortune of walking in behind Baltimore Octomom and her 67 children. I had to wait for them all to be served but eventually it was my turn! I eagerly ordered my ice cream and ardently watched the girl behind the counter prepare my delicious treat. I then walked over to the register, presented my coupon, and walked out, free ice cream in hand.
It was decadent. And free. Can’t get much better than that.
Life has been relatively normal lately – nothing new to report. No new pictures or stories to share. That’s not to say that life hasn’t been busy, however. I’m still living the whole eat-sleep-school-theatre life; it’s just been relatively quiet recently. Hopefully something exciting will happen soon!
The past two afternoons have been absolutely beautiful! Warm, sunny and beautiful. I spent both of those afternoons repainting set pieces with two of my favorite people and it couldn’t have been more fun. Some of the platforms that we use in the show have gotten really busted up over the past month and were in desperate need of some love, as were the jail bars that have been banged around (mostly by me) to oblivion.
Now, the Big Dollhouse is looking much better; no more broken bars or chipped paint! The spray paint worked wonderfully except now I look like a dirty homeless person.
Overall, the show has been great. We’re one month into our five month run and I’ve loved every moment of it. The cast is fantastic and the show itself is amazing. (PS: We’re now officially Helen Hayes Recommended!) I can’t wait for my family to see the show in June. It’s probably been my favorite show to work on to date.
