48/365: Retweeted

Colin retweeted me after tonight’s episode of MMAS! Awesome! (But I’m pissed that Mountaha went home).

The End of an Era

Today was the seniors’ last day of classes! I’m gonna miss these people! And what am I going to do in Trig without Becca there to entertain me?! (PS this picture makes it look like I have no chin, but I really do have a very nice, defined single chin that will require no plastic surgery to fix in the future, and same with Becca).

At least I only have on more year in high school. One thing to be happy about!

37/365 TWOOSH!

I love seeing this whenever I post a tweet that is exactly 140 characters (a Twoosh) to Twitter via Twitterriffic on my iPhone. It’s so rewarding!

Esperanza Renace

37/365: Esperanza Renace

Today,  I discovered the Spanish-language section at Borders!  Granted, I only found the Spanish-language children’s section, but it is Spanish nonetheless.  They had the Twilight and Harry Potter series’ for sale and a bunch of kiddie books.  I was fortuante to find the last copy of Esperanza Renace (Esperanza Rising, in English).  After reading the back cover, I felt like I’d read this book before in English but I couldn’t remember and so I bought it and am now trying to read it.

Luckily, I’m able to muddle through the book.  The majority that which I can’t comprehend is just vocabulary; I get the verb conjugations (I counted the other day and I know 15 verb tenses in Spanish!) and other grammatical stuff.  As long as I have my trusty dictionary by my side, everything is alright.

Pesto Perfection

36/365: Pesto Pasta

There are a lot of things in this world that I love.  Pesto is one of them.  So last night, I decided to make made Pesto Pasta with Chicken for dinner and it was fantastic!  It was a perfect summer dish and it tasted amazing.  I never thought that roasted red red pepper would taste that great in the same dish as pesto, but it worked becuase the roasted red pepper was subtle.  You can get the recipe here.

So Much Better

So, today was my World History AP exam, the exam that I had been ignoring and not caring about for the last eight months UNTIL I started stressing about it two days ago.  I guess I never really got into this class like I got into AP Government last year, and as a result, I never really…cared (for lack of a better term).  I didn’t study or pay attention in class all year, two things that are very uncharacteristic of myself, and I was afraid that I was really going to bomb this exam.

Well, I didn’t.  (As far as I know).

The multiple choice section was a breeze.  I only skipped two questions and I felt confident in my responses for the rest of them.  The essay section, however, was two straight hours of taking it up the butt.  I had NO IDEA what any of the three essays were about (and I cannot disclose the topics of the essays for forty eight hours, btw) so I kinda just made something up.  I sort of understood the DBQ essay but the CCOT and C&C were complete trainwrecks.

My essays for the last two were each one page long and took me twenty minutes each to write.  To put this into perspective, the College Board gives you ten front-and-back sheets in the response booklets and more than two hours for the essay section of the test.  My essays were one page each (one side of a sheet) and it took me a total of 50 minutes to write all three.  So yeah, I basically screwed up that entire half of the test.  But, so did everybody else in my class, so I don’t feel too bad about it.

However, it is all over now and I feel so much better than I did at this time yesterday!  And luckily, I’m not feeling crappy like I did after last year’s test.

34/366: Top Chef Masters

Saw the promo today on Bravo for the first time. So excited! A great way to start the summer.

What Could Be Better?!

One of the perks of having an unemployed parent is that you have to clean out the freezer before we buy any more food. Dinner tonight? Kid Cuisine chicken nuggets! And the chocolate pudding came with STAR SPRINKLES!

You Rock My World

32/365: Nutella

Last week, my sister made crêpes for her French class.  The crêpes themselves weren’t anything amazing (to me, they basically tasted like greasy French egg pancakes that needed some baking powder) until she made a dessert crêpe that had nutella spread on the inside and whipped cream on the outside…it was amazing!  Tasting nutella for the first time was like nothing that I have ever experienced and I have been addicted ever since.

The only downside is that the stuff is pretty unhealthy and has tons of fat and calories per serving.  So, every time I eat it, I’m probably shaving minutes off of my life.  But it’s worth it.
