It’s a wet and dreary day but I don’t care because I have my new MacBook! She came in the mail (along with a brand new printer/scanner/copier) yesterday morning and I’ve been deeply in love ever since. It’s so much faster than my old iMac (4x the RAM and a processor that’s almost twice as fast!) and I love iLife 09. The illuminated keyboard is an awesome feature, too. I’m still starstruck!

(Ignore the hideous Easter tablecloth.)
I’ve really enjoyed reading TUAW’s What We Want to see in iPhone 4.0 series and I’m looking forward to Wednesday’s “event”!

Dear iTunes,
I bought a song for $1.29 and still had $1.04 from an old gift card. Was it absolutely necessary to bill my credit card $0.25? Could we have just waited until I bought another song and then billed it all together? That would have made more sense.
Sincerely,
Danny
Ashley and I made our “The Secret” boards tonight. I sort of made one last year when I hung a picture of an iPhone on my wall but I decided to update it for this summer. Here is my new board:
The contents of my board, in no particular order: 2009 Jeep Compass (driving my parents’ 2004 Liberty right now, need my own wheels!), MacBook Pro (my mother just got one for work – it is amazing!), the Eiffel tower as a symbol for a European vacation and learning French, and money…it makes the world go ’round! Also pictured is an iPhone 3G (put it on the board last July and guess what I got on August 21, 2008!), my Kathy Griffin shrine to the left, and a coupon to California Tortilla.

This was my entire year’s worth of schoolwork (with a water bottle for scale). It was a killer year and it was very empowering to throw the entire pile into the recycling bin.

I think I need to clear some space on my bulletin board.

I bought a new keyboard today! My old Apple Pro Keyboard (picture here) finally kicked the bucket after three years; the right shift key and several of the keys on the number pad mysteriously all stopped working at once (which leads me to believe that somebody may have caused this malfunction), so I drove to the Apple store today and bought the amazing new keyboard (and by “new” I mean that it was new for me). It’s aluminum and extremely thin and it just looks cool! I love it!
Whilst browsing at the Apple store, I came across the iPhone 3G S and instantly fell in love. I will be buying one first thing on January 24, 2010 when I become eligible for an upgrade at AT&T. I’m super excited. :)

I got a gift card to go buy an iPhone 3G. And tickets to go see Kathy Griffin live in DC next month. And gift cards to Old Navy and Barnes & Noble. And an awesome shirt. And Jericho season 2 on DVD (including alternate, unaired ending). And on top of all that amazing stuff, I got to celebrate with some amazing people.
I think I’m gonna like being 16.

AAAAAH!!!! iPHONE 3G! Orgasmic. The 3G iPhone was released today at WWDC to much fanfare from myself. I’m definitely going to buy one when it comes out on July 11, because I’m sick of using this crappy GoPhone as my temp. It has 3G data speeds, GPS maps, and the back is now plastic (no more of that weird mirror thing that scratches so easily!). And, best of all, the price is cut in half! I can get my iPhone for $200 now, plus the monthly 3G data plan (which is $30 now? darn!). This is too good to be true. The only other thing that I could have wanted was more colors to choose from (I kinda liked the rumored Product Red color). I also want to know what the iPhone software 2.0 is like. I hope there’s video recording, MMS, and cut-and-paste functionality. That would be amazing.
And the only other piece of tech-geekery to report is almost as cool. I’m working to try to design and implement a portable, low-cost lighting system for SCP. I’m really excited for that. I’ll have more geeky details about that later. It’s gonna rock!
I’m sorry, Jennipher. I really am. I didn’t mean to forget about you like this. And I feel absolutely horrible for what I’ve done to you. I left you for her more than two months ago, and now I find you, cold and sick, hiding in my bedroom. I apologize from the bottom of my heart.
It all started this morning…I found you under the chair in my bedroom, and you looked positively horrible. You felt so cold and you were so green that I thought you would vomit on me any second.

When I proceeded to turn you on, the first song that you played for me was “Wish Me Well (You Can Go To Hell)” by the Bouncing Souls, and then “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay” from that remix EP that I bought in eighth grade. I was saddened.
I’m hoping that it brought you temporary solace to discover that I actually needed your help with something, though. I needed your earbuds! I lost Debbie McStinkerton’s awesome new earbuds last night, leaving me with no way to privately enjoy my music. I was desperate, so I grabbed the nasty old earbuds off of you to temporarily lend to Debbie. I know you feel like I’m throwing you back on the street again, but Debbie is so happy now!
And besides, I’ve decided to start using you to backup my important files so that you don’t feel so useless anymore. Is that an alright compromise?

See? Now we’re all one big, happy Apple family.
