Funnier than a cup of sand.

Hey guys!
Please welcome the newest contributor to my blog, Cara! She’s going to be posting for a while along with me, since my updates have been sort of lacking lately.
Welcome, Cara!

I spent the day yesterday with some really cool people!
I woke up around 8, went for a run, and was off to Starbucks for UHL meeting with Mindi and Briana. We talked about the website (which we have some really cool plans for!) and the show (for which rehearsals start tomorrow!). It was a lot of fun…those two are awesome! I had a Orange Creme Frappacuino because, well, I was feeling adventurous. It was horrible; it was way too sweet. The taste closely resembled that of taffy….don’t buy it!
After that, I met with Cara at Uno’s at noon and we had lunch. I tried some tasty potato thingies that I really liked! We talked about a bunch of stuff, and we also learned that we cannot handle money…not at all.
We were there for about an hour, and decided to drive over to DLC a bit early. Well, we didn’t intend on arriving an hour early. We went to Target to try and kill some time, and we bought a bunch of stuff! Our receipts inculded:
Once we had bought our candy, we headed back to DLC to see Rachel in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown…she was awesome! The cast was really talented. I didn’t really like the show, though. It was kind of confusing and there was no plot. Bad writing, but good performance. It was also pretty weird being back at DLC after almost a year. It seems so different! All the pictures are gone off the walls, there are new signs and stuff, and apparently TYA is now called “Teen Professional Company” or something like that.
After the show, we drove to Centennial Park to chill out and eat candy. We found a nice little spot to hang out at that was sort of off the running path…it passed by us and we were visible from it, but it was down a small hill. We ate candy, took videos and pics, and probably convinced everybody at the park that we’re cokeheads. Some of my favorite pics:

It was an awesome day! You can see more videos and pics on Facebook in both of our albums.
I’m pretty sick of most of the people at school. I won’t name names, but those people are getting on my last nerve. After a particularly stressful day of dealing with idiots, I couldn’t take it any more. I called Cara to see if she was free, and we set off to the movies for some friend therapy.
We decided to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End. Lemme start off by saying that I never was a huge Pirates fan. I saw most of the first movie, and wasn’t thrilled, but I liked it. I never got around to seeing the second movie, but the third one looked pretty cool. So, basically, I walked into the movie not really knowing anything about the movie.
Since it was opening day, we anticipated HUGE crowds. We decided to see the 6:15 showing, and to avoid any long lines or possible sell-outs we ordered advance tickets online (amazingly, they were still available at 3:00!). We got to the theater at 5:30, knowing that we would need to get there early to get decent seats/seats together. We got to the actual theater (#8) at around 5:40 (after loading up on snacks), and, surprisingly, the line was pretty short! They opened the doors almost immediately, and we got in and got awesome seats. Since it was a three-hour movie, we decided to prepare ourselves accordingly: two cokes, nachos, popcorn, pretzels, and Reese’s Pieces constituted our smorgasbord of snacks.
We eagerly awaited the movie for 45 minutes. Actually, it was a great movie! The plot was great, the visual effects were stunning, and I was hooked! I really want to go back and see the first and second movies now.
The best part, however, happened after the movie. Cara drove me home in her awesome new car! But…I kind of got us lost. :P We left the mall parking lot, and you know how you go through two intersections and turn left onto Little Patuxent and follow that back to the lakefront? Well I accidentally told her to turn at the first intersection and totally screwed us. We drove around for a second while I tried to re-orient myself, but when we ended up at the exits for Route 29, we realized that we had no idea where we were, so we turned around and attempted to make it back to the mall. Thankfully, Columbia is laid out kind of like a big circle, so whichever direction you go in, you’ll always end up near the town center.
We passed Hickory Ridge, Cedar Lane, and some other random streets until we came to Howard County General. I had a feeling that we were getting closer, but still wasn’t very sure. We drove around Howard Community College (yes, completely around! We passed both entrances) until we finally ended up on Little Patuxent. We passed my mom’s office, and I was able to get us home without ending up in Upper Marlboro or Baltimore or somewhere completely not where I live (we gave Long Reach the finger on the way :D). I’m sorry Briana, but I think this takes the cake for worst misdirection getting out of the mall.
So basically, I had the most fun that I’ve had in a very long time. It was great to see Cara again! I recommend the movie to anybody who hasn’t seen it yet…you’ll love it!
(In case you’re wondering, the title is a reference to the people who sat next to us in the theater.)
Dear Cara…
I hate this. It sucks. Our relationship has seemd so…strained this year.
We have empty conversations…we don’t talk about anything, just random stuff. We don’t have those fun, sexy, cyber-sex sessions we used to have. We don’t gossip. We barely see eachother. We never call eachother. We never text. We never email. I remember that we used to talk every day, whether it was on AIM, email, MySpacae/Facebook comments, or blog comments. We talked. We don’t anymore, and I miss that.
We try to make it work, but we just can’t! What’s wrong with us?! Could it possibly have been meant to be like this?
We used to be just friends. We became best friends. Then, I loved you. Then I had this wierd feeling…I didn’t want to be around you. We took some time off, and then I was back to loving you. And the, we went back to being best friends…or at least we tried.
Now, I’m just not sure.
