Upon the conclusion of every year, I find it integral to reflect upon the events that have transpired over the past 365 days. I have chosen to remember 2007 based upon the cultural facets that it defined for itself. I announced the categories nominees for my 2007 in review awards yesterday, and today I am proud to present the winners.
An asterisk (*) denotes a second-year winner; due to the fact that the award categories and their nominees have changed significantly over the past three years, there are no third-year winners.

For the fourth year in a row, here it is: my “year-in-review” post. The format for this year is going to be a little different; I’m getting rid of the Greatest Ally/Enemy categories because they seemed to cause more harm than good. Where applicable, nominees are linked (a “#” denotes a link to a blog post about the nominee).

iPOD TOUCH = ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY AMAZING!
Oh my lordy. I am in love with this thing! I’ve only had it for fifteen hours and I’ve already run down the battery twice…hehe (in the picture above, it’s charging :P ). Everything about it is just…stunning; words cannot describe it. The touch screen is amazing. This is the first device that had a touch-sensitive screen that I’ve owned, and I love it. The user interface is amazing…it’s simple and elegant and everything that I would expect from Apple. Although the touch keyboard is taking some getting used-to, I’m starting to adjust to it and it’s becoming more familiar and easier to use.
One of my favorite features is the built-in WiFi and Mobile Safari. Checking email and IM’ing and reading feeds and blogging AND watching movies and listening to music all in one device? Heck yes! I love how it’s the “full” internet, too, not the garbage that they labeled “mobile web”. It’s also awesome to have 2GB more of storage space than my mini had, although I’m finding that my TV shows and movies have taken up that extra space (and more!).
Other than my iPod, I got a sweatshirt, some chocolate, and a 2008 Page-A-Day calendar that counts down the days until Georgie-Porgie Bush is out of office! My aunt gave me a gift card to Hollister, too. It was a good Christmas. :)
I still can’t get over how fast this holiday season went…it feels like Halloween was last week! When we were sitting down to have dinner and my mom brought all the extravagant food to the table, I thought to myself, Didn’t this just happen, like, yesterday? and I still feel like it was just Thanksgiving. Frankly, I’m disappointed that it’s all over (I don’t count New Years Eve as part of the holiday season…more on that tomorrow!) and it still doesn’t feel very much like Christmas. Although I am going to miss the festive atmosphere and the fun of the holiday season, it’s going to be nice to have a slow few months coming up. Yay for relaxation!
So, guess what. I’m posting from my new iPod touch! It is super completely, ghetto-fabulously amazing! I’ll write a more in-depth post later. Merry Christmas!
Last night was sort of a little bit super amazing. Briana and I went to the mall to do some Christmas shopping, and, well, let’s just say that it kicked butt…unfortunately, the butt hat we kicked cost $140 and I’m still not done buying gifts, but, um, yeah.
Sorry. I’m not exactly coherent right now. My mind is in a thousand different places. I have so much crap to do for school. I need break!
But last night was amazing; the most fun that I’ve had in a long time. I want to post more thoroughly tomorrow, after I’ve had some time to gather my thoughts and focus.
